Our Approach

Assessment Framework

Every assessment published by Review-It follows a standardised methodology designed to provide fair, consistent, and repeatable analysis. Each brand is evaluated against the same defined criteria, ensuring comparability across assessments.

Assessments are conducted by examining publicly available evidence - not consumer opinion polls, user-generated reviews, or aggregated ratings. The focus is on what brands say, what they disclose, and whether their positioning holds up under scrutiny.

Evaluation Criteria

Each assessment examines brands across five core dimensions:

  • Transparency analysis - Examining disclosure practices, pricing clarity, and policy accessibility
  • Positioning clarity - Assessing whether brand messaging aligns with observable operations
  • Red flag checks - Identifying patterns commonly associated with misleading or exaggerated claims
  • Evidence-based scoring - Grading against defined benchmarks rather than subjective impression
  • Comparative assessment - Contextualising findings against sector norms and competitor practices

Evidence Sources

Assessments draw on publicly available information, including:

  • Company websites, terms and conditions, and policy documentation
  • Publicly listed pricing, feature comparisons, and marketing claims
  • Regulatory filings and industry registrations where applicable
  • Observable business practices and public-facing communications

Research Process

  • Evidence gathering - Systematic collection of publicly available information from the brand and relevant industry sources
  • Criteria application - Each evaluation dimension is assessed against defined benchmarks
  • Analysis and writing - Findings are documented as structured, long-form articles
  • Editorial review - Each assessment undergoes review for accuracy, fairness, and consistency before publication
  • Publication - Assessments are published directly on Review-It as original articles

What We Do Not Do

  • Aggregate consumer reviews or star ratings
  • Accept payment for assessments or favourable coverage
  • Provide personal recommendations or financial advice
  • Use automated content generation without editorial oversight
